• Duty of disclosure – You have a duty to take reasonable care not to make a misrepresentation in answering the questions in the Proposal Form (or when you apply for this Insurance). You must answer the questions fully and accurately. You also have a duty to tell us immediately if at any time after your contract of Insurance has been entered into, varied or renewed with us any of the information given in the Proposal Form (or when you applied for this Insurance) is inaccurate or has changed.
• Sum Insured – You must ensure that the home contents are insured at an appropriate amount.
• Impact of insufficient sum insured – If the sum insured in your policy is less than the actual value at the time of loss, i.e. under insurance, you are deemed to have underinsured and have self-insured the difference. This average condition will apply in the event of a claim.
• Basis of Valuation
o The basis of settlement will be on reinstatement value basis for electrical and home appliances that are less than 3 years old. For electrical and home appliances that are more than 3 years old and all other insured properties, the basis of settlement will be based on market value.
o Reinstatement Value Basis – We will pay the full cost of repairing the damaged property without any deductions being made for wear, tear or depreciation, provided that the sum covered is adequate to cover the total cost of reinstating the property
o Market Value Basis – We will pay the cost of repairing the damaged property less the amount for betterment, wear, tear and depreciation.
• Excess – This is the amount you have to bear before we indemnify you of a loss.
o Excess of RM200 on each and every loss and this is not applicable to the Additional Benefits under Section 2.
o Excess of 10% of loss amount or minimum RM500 on each item or article whichever is higher for each and every loss in respect of Accidental Damage.

We will not be liable in the event of the private dwelling house being left or unoccupied for more than 90 days whether consecutively or not in any one period of insurance against the stated event.

This policy does not cover certain losses, such as:
War, Civil War and any act of Terrorism
Mechanical or electrical breakdown or derangement

You may cancel the policy at any time by giving written notice to us. Upon cancellation, any refund of the premium would be based on the conditions stipulated in the policy contract.

It is important that you inform us of any change in your contact details to ensure that all correspondences reach you in a timely manner.

You must:
i. Report the incident to the Police immediately and render all reasonable assistance in causing the discovery and punishment of any guilty person and in tracing and recovering the property.
ii. Notify us in writing with full details as soon as possible. Early notification is required to avoid any prejudice to your claim.

You must submit the claim with all the supporting information and documents to us and give full cooperation to us or your representatives in assessing your claim.
